Tripod Marketing Inc. Excel Solution

PART A) SOLVING THE EXCEL CASE
You did it! You were selected for the coveted summer internship at Tripod Marketing Inc. (TMI). On your first day, you are welcomed to the company’s campus by CEO Robert Fleckburg and Chief Marketing Officer Jon Flookstein, who are excited to have you on board. They explain that your main task for the summer will be to create a forecast modeling tool with Excel that allows them to make budget requisitions and determine how different scenarios would affect the department’s budget. Your work will help the Marketing department forecast its 2015 budget needs so it can request working capital from the Finance department. TMI is a Torld leader in directmai1 campaign design and execution. Direct-mail marketing is a method of sending communications to potential customers via the United States Postal Service (USPS). TMI offers three different types of envelopes that vary in size and cost to better suit its customers’ needs.

. The Jumbo envelope is the most expensive because of its size and composition. This 8- by 10-inch envelope is made of a thin, cardboard-like material, much like a priority envelope used by the USPS. This option offers clients a more official look than smaller paper envelopes.

. The 6- by 9-inch envelope is the mid-sized option. It stands out from regular envelopes. The 6 X 9 envelope is also the middle option in terms of price.

. The #10 envelope is the most commonly used envelope for invoices, notices, or other simple documents. At 4 by 9 inches, it is the most economical alternative of the three envelope options. Jon says your work will be important for three direct-mail campaigns planned during 2015:

. ABC Corp. will use Jumbo and 6 X 9 envelopes for one campaign.

. Delaware Inc. will use 6 X 9 and #10 envelopes for another campaign.

. The Blue Hens Fan Club will use the #10 envelope for a third campaign.
